Psychiatry-led human systems consulting

Why does this keep happening?

Every organization is born with a psychology. It persists through every reorg, every new strategy, every fresh start you were certain would change things. We diagnose it first. Then we help you work with it instead of against it.

A diagnostic first practice

Organizational Psychogenetics

We trace the inherited patterns, defenses, and drives that shape how your organization thinks and acts.

Human Systems Scorecard (HSS)

A 48-question diagnostic that maps 12 constructs and 9 defense signatures.

Founded by a psychiatrist

Clinical depth. Strategic clarity. Human insight at the core of every engagement.

Organizational Psychogenetics

An organization is what it does. It is also who it is.

Every organization is born with a psychology. It persists through every reorg, every new strategy, every fresh start you were certain would change things. We diagnose it first. Then we help you work with it instead of against it.

Encoded at founding

The founder’s unmetabolized psychology becomes the company’s operating system. Quietly. Permanently. Without anyone choosing it.

Transmitted forward

New people are quietly recruited into the pattern. One person usually carries the system’s split as the identified problem everyone agrees

Diagnosable

Like any psychology, it can be seen clearly, measured, and worked with. A diagnosis before a prescription. Always.

What we do with the diagnosis

The reading tells us where to work

Leadership & Culture

Clinical sessions driven by your Human Systems Scorecard signature. We work beneath the visible symptoms: the repeating tensions, decision patterns, authority dynamics, communication loops, and defense signatures that keep shaping the organization from the inside.

✓ Sessions led by the diagnostic, not a template
✓ Targets the recurring defense signatures
✓ Built for leadership that wants to change at the level of pattern

Growth Engine

Leadership and organizational identity, running at the same time, because the two were never separate. The psychology that shapes your culture also shapes how decisions are made, how the team communicates, how clients experience the organization, and how growth is either supported or quietly resisted.

✓ L&C and organizational identity tracks running simultaneously
✓ Clinical sessions driven by the HSS signature
✓ For organizations ready to work the internal pattern and the external expression

Organizational Architecture

We stay. SOPs age. Teams drift. Roles blur. Decisions revert. Even after strong interventions, organizations return to what feels familiar.

Organizational Architecture holds the work in place. We keep structure, behavior, and leadership aligned through growth and change.

✓ Ongoing, not a one-time install
✓ Supports team expansions, system migrations, and operational shifts
✓ Keeps the conditions in place so the work lasts

How we work

Diagnose first. Always.

Most consulting prescribes before it examines. We do not. The sequence is the whole point.

Phase 1

Diagnose

We run the HSS. We read the psychology before we say a word about strategy.

Phase 2

Interpret

We tell you what we found in plain language. What pattern you carry, where it came from, and what it keeps producing.

Phase 3

Intervene

We work where the reading points. The diagnosis chooses the room, not the other way around.

Phase 4

Stay

Change reverts under real conditions. We stay long enough to hold the new structure in place until it becomes the default.

the practice

I am a psychiatrist. I spent years learning to read what people could not say about themselves. Organizations are no different..

They have a psychology, a history, and a set of defenses. Most of them have never been seen clearly. Rethink Science is the home of Organizational Psychogenetics, the framework I built to name what was always there and to do something useful with it.

We are a small, diagnostic-first practice. We measure before we prescribe. We stay after we recommend. And we believe the most important thing about your organization is the thing nobody has named yet.
